MACRO has two locations: Via Nizza and TestaccioMACRO – Museo di Arte Contemporanea di Roma (Museum of Contemporary Art of Rome) is specialised in Italian contemporary art from the 1960s onwards. The museum has two locations: one called Via Nizza and the other Testaccio.
The Testaccio location is named after its neighbourhood, which in recent years has become more and more culturally and artistically active. The museum is housed in a former 19th-century slaughterhouse and consists of two pavilions, mostly used for temporary exhibitions.
